“The culture and tradition of the Middle Kingdom entice foreigners with their complexity and enchanting atmosphere. Why do people in the Far East celebrate the New Year at the turn of January and February? Why do the Chinese make nearly three billion journeys at that time, and what makes the market freeze?”
You will get to know more about the Chinese celebrations at our on-line breakfast: “The spring festival, or the Chinese New Year”, to which we invite you on Thursday, 11 February, at 8:00 am.
You’ll learn a lot of interesting facts at the meeting, for example:
- Why is New Year’s Day a movable feast?
- When is it appropriate to “sweep the dust”?
- Why shouldn’t you wash your hair during Chinese New Year?
- Which night do Chinese people sleep with their clothes on?
- Why don’t the Chinese visit the sick on New Year’s Day?
- Is it worth going to China during the New Year period?
Participants will also be invited to take part in the New Year’s QUIZ.
The meeting will be held by Kamila Radzyńska – business coach, specialised in intercultural communication, member of SIETAR Polska, R&D Manager experienced in foreign trade, romanist, passionate about the Far East, winner of the Knowledge about France Competition organised by PR III radio and France Inter.
The meeting will be held in Polish.
