The famous “Barbie” film and the controversy it has aroused in Asia is a great opportunity to talk about how cultural differences are still important, despite increasing globalization. Please join us on Thursday, October 12 at 8 a.m. for the Online Breakfast: “Barbie in the Far East.”
You will learn about the difficulties the Mattel company had to face while introducing its flagship doll in Far Eastern countries, as well as:
- why a specialist engineer for AIM-7 Sparrow missiles was hired
- how the German doll Lilli inspired Ruth Handler
- why Barbie’s flagship store in Shanghai was closed down
- for what reason the “Barbie” film is not screened in Vietnam
- what caused “#NoBarbenheimer” in Japan
The meeting will be held by Kamila Radzyńska – business coach, specialised in intercultural communication, member of SIETAR Polska, R&D Manager experienced in foreign trade, romanist, passionate about the Far East, and winner of the Knowledge about France Competition organised by PR III radio and France Inter.
