Salans launches Corporate Disputes Team

The primary objective of the new team is to provide legal advice to businesses faced with or already engaged in corporate disputes and in disputes between partners/shareholders and at the boardroom level as well as other corporate disputes.
The team was set up in response to the existing needs of Salans clients and trends in market expectations. For some time now shareholders, including minority shareholders, have shown a greater willingness to assert their corporate rights. Disputes have been arising more frequently between majority and minority shareholders over how companies are run and as a result of changes in the shareholders structure. Moreover, company owners are paying more attention to assuring quality performance of duties by board members and holding underperformers to account.
“This sort of dispute is legally exacting and is becoming increasingly commonplace. It requires narrow specialisation, and our team seeks to respond to the demand by providing a specialised, bespoke service aimed at achieving successful dispute resolution,” said Tomasz Dąbrowski, Salans Warsaw’s Managing Partner.
The launch of the specialised Corporate Disputes Team at Salans is the first initiative of its in the local legal services market. The newly created team provides a comprehensive dispute resolution service, covering registered disputes between company partners and shareholders, as well as between partners or shareholders and companies, including public companies, as well as between companies and management board and supervisory board members. While the team formally operates as part of the Warsaw Corporate Group, it is interdisciplinary and co-operates closely with the Warsaw Litigation Team.
