WHITE & CASE HIRES BANKING LAWYERS

“Tomasz and Nicholas are an excellent addition to our Warsaw Banking & Finance team, now comprising 15 lawyers, and will further strengthen our ability to deliver the highest quality services to our clients.”, commented Piotr Gałuszyński, Head of the Banking & Finance Practice in Warsaw. “With Nick as an experienced English- qualified lawyer, and Tomasz’ dual English and Polish-qualifications, this is a perfect fit as we build out both the domestic and international transactional banking practice in Warsaw, which is an important and growing market focus for the Firm”, underlines Jonathan Weinberg, who is Head of Banking & Finance for the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)/Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and who is based in Warsaw and Prague.

Ostrowski and Coddington joined from Clifford Chance’s Warsaw banking & finance practice. Tomasz Ostrowski specializes in Polish and international financing (and refinancing) transactions, including acquisition finance, leveraged finance, financial restructuring, project finance, and real estate finance. His clients include banks, borrowers, sponsors, investment funds and venture capital/private equity funds.
Nicholas Coddington specializes in all aspects of international club and syndicated corporate finance, leveraged finance, and project finance and, real estate. He advises both banks and borrowers active in Poland in relation to commercial real estate finance, project finance, corporate finance and acquisition finance. He is well-versed in the various lending and security structures used both in Poland and across CEE.
Coddington’s and Ostrowski’s arrival is part and parcel of White & Case’s strategy of building the strongest banking and finance offering available in CEE. “Nick’s and Tomasz’s international experience and knowledge will be a significant asset to any client of the Banking & Finance Practice worldwide looking to invest in Poland and other CEE countries,” adds Jonathan Weinberg. “These hires demonstrate the Firm’s commitment to a tier-1 banking practice in one of the region’s key economies.”
