For centuries, colours have been used to communicate without words. However, without understanding the cultural context, we can misinterpret their meaning. This is a common mistake when translating advertising from local to global markets.
Colour can also be a conundrum for translators, as they are often part of idioms.
Join us for our Online Breakfast on the “Cultural symbolism of colours” on Thursday, 20th April at 8:00 am.

- who likes “blue beefsteaks”
- in which culture surnames are not to be written in red
- what the favourite colour of politicians’ is
- why Facebook chose blue for its logo
