Saxony (German: Freistaat Sachsen) is a federal state in Germany bordering Poland, the Czech Republic and the following federal states: Bavaria, Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg. The capital city is Dresden.
The other main cities of Saxony are Leipzig, Chemnitz, Zwickau, Plauen and Görlitz. The main rivers are the Elbe, the Mulde, the White Elster and the Nysa Łużycka River which forms the Polish-German border.
If you are looking for precious art and exquisite music, if you like to admire the craftsmanship of world-famous traditional handicrafts and the modern history of manufactures, if you enjoy eating in a stylish atmosphere and sleeping almost royally, and if you would like to find out more about Polish history and culture, then be sure to visit Saxony.
To be discussed:
- How was white gold created and who was its victim?
- Where does the childhood dream of becoming “Pan Samochodzik” (“Mr. Automobile”) come true?
- In which mansion will you feel like Leonardo da Vinci (or, if you prefer, Claude Monet)?
- What is frowned upon in Saxon Switzerland?
The meeting will be hosted by Hanna Dzielińska – a journalist, Warsaw guide, author of online intercity (quarantine) walks, books on culture and the city, as well as a populariser of culture and art. Online breakfast with BALAJCZA – “East meets West: cross-cultural differences through the eyes of Asians. Part 2”
Thursday, 20 May 2021
8 am-9 am
The differences separating the Far East from the Western world are so profound that sometimes we may get the impression that we come from different galaxies. In one of those cultures, life is based on friendship and a balance of services, meanwhile in the other – on the rule of law.
We would like to invite you to the continuation of our meeting about the clash of cultures, which will take place on Thursday, May 20 at 8:00 am. This will be the second part of the presentation “East meets West: cross-cultural differences through the eyes of Asians”.
We will answer questions such as:
- Since when do people eat with chopsticks in the Far East?
- Why should we not treat a Chinese to a cheese sandwich?
- What does food mean to Asians?
- Why do well-mannered Asians not say exactly what they think?
- What cannot be missed in Chinese trains?
- Why is the world a “line” in the Western culture and a “sphere” in the Far East?
The meeting will be held by Kamila Radzyńska – business coach, specialised in intercultural communication, member of SIETAR Polska, R&D Manager experienced in foreign trade, romanist, passionate about the Far East, and winner of the Knowledge about France Competition organised by PR III radio and France Inter.
The meeting will be held in Polish.

Why do MMA fighters need an interpreter and what does sport have to do with business?
Can a sporting event have anything to do with a business meeting? Sport, like business, brings together people from all over the world – and when they meet, they have to find a common language. In such situations, interpreters make it possible to talk more freely, establish relations, negotiate… No worries about misunderstandings.
One great example is the participation of BALAJCZA Linguistic Services in the Polsat Sport programme “Koloseum – Magazyn Sportów Walki”. The foreign guest on the show was Serigne Ousmane Dia, a Senegalese wrestling champion who came to Poland to face Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 59. BALAJCZA’s interpreter simultaneously translated for him what the presenters were saying into French.
However, this is only one of the tasks taken on by BALAJCZA as part of our cooperation with Polsat Sport– we have translated from English, Dutch and Spanish in various sports such as football and boxing.
Simultaneous interpreting for the media is quite a challenge – it requires professionalism, good stress management and great presence. However, these same qualities also come in useful in less formal situations such as conferences, presentations, or even ordinary business meetings.

On-line workshop with BALAJCZA – “How to design interesting newsletters and offers that will encourage your clients to interact”
Tuesday, 27 April 2021
11 am-12 pm
A newsletter is a type of online newspaper that is sent out to web users. The newsletter, just like classic advertising newsletters, combines graphics with language content. It provides information about promotions, sales, discount codes and new products. There are also newsletters sent out by blogs when new material is released. Correspondence in the form of a newsletter is generally periodic and in a short form. Occasionally there are more extensive bulletins, presenting content in a way that addresses a wide range of issues, in the form of a guide. The newsletter is intended to maintain existing consumers, as well as acquire new clients who have recently expressed interest in an offer or content.
During the workshop we will discuss:
- How your clients read newsletters – why does layout of the content matter in sales and communication?
- Do personalized newsletters work? How do you design them?
- How to write messages that grab your recipient’s attention
- What phrases should be avoided?
- How to combine correctness with attractiveness of the message
The meeting will be hosted by Ms Olga Marek-Kostrzewska, a Polish language teacher at the Lingua Polonica school, and a marketing and PR specialist by profession. She built her experience working for companies such as Benefit Systems and at numerous marketing conferences.
The meeting will be held in Polish.
