WHITE & CASE ADVISES ENERGA SA ON CORPORATE BOND ISSUE PROGRAM AND OTC LISTING

Warsaw, November 26, 2012. White & Case P. Pietkiewicz, M. Studniarek i Wspólnicy Kancelaria Prawna sp.k., which is a member of international law firm White & Case LLP, has advised ENERGA SA, a capital group generating, trading in and distributing heat and electricity, on its domestic bond issue program of up to PLN 4 billion.

The first issue launched under the program was comprised of the PLN 1 billion 7-year series A bearer bonds issued and listed on the OTC market run by BondSpot SA on the Catalyst bond market. The issue was organized by Bank Pekao SA and BRE Bank SA.

According to ENERGA SA’s press release, the capital raised from the bond issue will be used for the implementation of the ENERGA SA Group’s Long-Term Strategic Investment Plan for 2012–2020, including the expansion and upgrading of distribution grids.

“In the entire 2012, we have witnessed an exceptionally intensive activity of Polish companies on the debt market. Volatility and the related uncertainty which can be noticed on stock markets makes companies seek capital on a more stable and safer financial debt instrument market. We are particularly pleased that in spite of cautious or even skeptical forecasts of the development of the Polish economy, international rating agencies appreciate Polish companies’ investment plans and development prospects, as evidenced by ENERGA SA’s increased credit rating to BBB,” said Andrzej Sutkowski, a White & Case partner.

The transaction team consisted of lawyers from capital markets practice including partners Marcin Studniarek and Andrzej Sutkowski, and associate Bartosz Smardzewski.
With an office in Warsaw since 1991, White & Case is one of the largest international law firms in Poland, advising leading Polish and international companies on the most complex cross-border and national transactions in the market.

Forbo Flooring celebrating 150 years of linoleum

For Forbo Flooring 2013 is a year of celebration, in which we commemorate 150 years of Linoleum after filing the original patent for the industrial manufacturing of Linoleum floor covering in 1863 by Frederik Walton. Linoleum was invented by Frederik Walton in 1860 in the Scottish village of Nairn. It took another 3 years before Linoleum could actually be manufactured. The manufacturing patent is the bases for Linoleum as a resilient. Forbo Flooring today, both in Assendelft (Netherlands) and in Kirkcaldy/Nairn (Scotland), manufactures Linoleum, which under the Marmoleum brand is the world market leader in this specific resilient flooring category.

Marmoleum has since long moved away from the initial marbled beige and grey floors that come to mind. Forbo Marmoleum is a world of colour and design that is available in many different forms and styles. There are over 350 colours and more then 12 visual designs like marbled, patterned, linear and solid. Marmoleum is one of the true and versatile floor coverings of today, loved for its authenticity, tactility and natural material content. Besides floor covering, Linoleum ‘specials’ are also used for pin boards and furniture finishing.

An ingenious invention
Should Linoleum be invented today it would most certainly be seen as a revolution in the resilient offer. The combination of being both the most sustainable resilient floor and combining this with offering the lowest cost of ownership and the best LCA in the flooring industry is truly remarkable.

A natural product
Marmoleum is a natural product, made from 97% natural raw material, of which 72% is rapidly renewable in nature, and 43% is recyclable. This makes it the most sustainable floor covering as well as the floor that results in the lowest cost of ownership because of its easy maintenance.

It is a floor with a great heritage, linking the product to all the main architectural trends of the past 100 years. It is found in many functional buildings world wide that take care of the vital elements in our society, education and healthcare. Over the years Marmoleum has been installed in many hospitals, clinics, age care homes, schools and kinder gardens world wide. However these are not the only sectors where Marmoleum is found. The richness of its colour bank, the sustainable nature and the ease of maintenance makes it loved by architects, facility managers, building owners and end-users who also apply the product in retail chains, offices, leisure and hospitality outlets all over the world.

A new collection
To celebrate the 150 years of Linoleum, Forbo Flooring will introduce a completely renewed collection which is called “The Next Generation of Marmoleum”. An ultra performing floor with Topshield2 and a large variety of linoleum specials such as sheet & tiles, an acoustic and decibel offer as well as a superior fire classification are part of the introduction. The collection will be introduced with four design directions; Marbled, Linear, Patterned and Solid. The new collection will come to market in January 2013. THE Y REVOLUTION? An international survey on Generation Y: Their aspirations and relationship with gender equality and business

A generation that demands its right to happiness and that is eager to see gender equality emerge in business.
This study outlines the progress that remains to be completed in order to measure up to Generation Y’s expectations, regardless of the country or continent. More open, more flexible, more creative, more respectful of gender equality, the company is transformed under the pressure of currently employed generations and will continue its inevitable evolution with the arrival of Generation Y. It is difficult for companies to respond to this generation that is in search of meaning, but certain lessons from the survey bring good news for today’s managers who are confronted with Yers across 5 continents!

Wanting to know more about the generation that is arriving in business and questioning the existing model, Mazars has conducted a survey via the internet and social networks, on the aspirations of Generation Y and their relationship with gender equality and business.
More than 1000 young people from 64 different nationalities responded to the questionnaire from July to August 2012. This survey was conducted jointly with WoMen’Up, an association that works on Generation Y, gender equality and networking on behalf of large companies.

The cross interview between Laurent CHOAIN, chief HR Officer of Mazars, Emmanuelle DUEZ and Adeline BRAESCU-KERLAN, co-founders of WoMen’Up.
