With the unique, integrated service we have called Simplifying Complexity our clients save time and money and can focus on their core business as we take over the operational management of their projects. Real property owners appreciate the added value from the combined know-how of Rödl & Partner’s and Knight Frank’s experts, their knowledge of the market, the crucial aspects of local bookkeeping, legal and accounting issues, as well as long experience in managing assets and real properties. Our services contribute to the growth in value and optimisation of real property investments, says Bartłomiej Łepkowski, Partner and Head of Office and Logistics Asset Management at Knight Frank.

We specialise in accounting and tax & legal services for real property companies. While advising one of them we had an opportunity to work together with Knight Frank’s experts. We noticed that together we could offer a lot more and the synergy we could create would give an extraordinary added value to the client. This is how the idea of a joined, comprehensive offering was born, says Renata Kabas-Komorniczak, Partner at Rödl & Partner.

The collaboration between Knight Frank and Rödl & Partner and their joined service fit into the increasingly more popular concept of one-stop-shop and comprehensive offering of solutions dedicated to a specific industry or group of clients.

Mazars: annual growth of 15.9% and a strategic merger in China

Mazars Group announces 2014-2015 fiscal year results of €1.252bn. This figure is up 15.9% from last year, driven by 6.0% organic growth, 6.0% external growth – in particular from the merger with Roever Broenner Susat in early 2015 – and a 3.9% Forex effect.

Mazars finalised a merger with Chinese audit firm ZhongShen ZhongHuan in December 2015, to create a full-service firm with the ability to support clients in 77 countries. Since 1997, Mazars’ unique integrated partnership model has proven successful in China, and the merger will enable the Mazars partnership to continue delivering exceptional value in the Chinese audit and consulting sector.

This merger will bring together more than 1,800 professionals, including 83 partners, from 15 offices across mainland China. Recognised as a leader in Financial Services (notably in the bank and insurance industries), Mazars will combine its expertise with ZhongShen ZhongHuan’s market reach over the next two years, so as to be ready for the next mandatory audit rotation for banks. The new group’s unique integrated partnership structure offers numerous growth opportunities for professionals and will deliver high value to both existing and new clients, with stronger teams and offices in all major Chinese cities.

This merger will ensure that Mazars continues to strengthen its position in high-growth economies on all continents, and follows mergers in Germany, Australia, Mozambique and Cyprus during 2015.

Philippe Castagnac, CEO of Mazars and Chairman of the Executive Board, states that “after the integration of an important German structure in 2015, this operation in China is not only a significant boost to Mazars’ presence and capacities, but also an undertaking for additional development within one of the world’s leading economies.”

ZhongShen ZhongHuan will be able to offer significantly improved support through the Mazars partnership for Chinese clients that are pursuing internationalisation, in particular major public sector accounts and investments projects under the “One Belt One Road” policy.

“If we look ahead, the merger between Mazars in China and ZhongShen ZhongHuan is only the beginning. The unique partnership model is attracting more organisations and teams, which is bringing about more development projects in 2016” explains Mr. Huang, Chairman of the Board of ZhongShen ZhongHuan.

Mrs. Zhang Liwen, Chief Accountant of ZhongShen ZhongHuan, has been appointed to the Mazars Group Executive Board. Mr. Shi Wenxian, Chief Partner of ZhongShen ZhongHuan, has been appointed to the Mazars Group Governance Council.

Proceedings regarding withholdig tax on dividends paid by Polish companies to Switzerland in 2011

Dividends paid by Polish companies to related entities based in Switzerland have generally benefited from exemption from withholding tax (tax at source) in recent years (provided that a Swiss entity held no less than 25% of the share capital of the company paying the dividend). There has been only one doubt about dividend payments made in 2011 because of an amendment to the CIT Act and the terms of the Poland-Switzerland convention on the avoidance of double taxation.

The Fracht Group is opening new offices in Europe!

The branch in Finland, located in Porvoo near Helsinki, will provide a full range of services of a logistics operator, with emphasis on the needs of industrial and key clients and the most rapidly growing branches in the region, which include the timber and paper industry and the power industry. The operations of the Danish branch, located in Copenhagen, will focus on servicing the power industry – both based on fossil fuels and renewable energy sources as well as the steel and cement industry, the construction industry and the infrastructure industry. The branch is primarily geared for oversize and heavy transports, but remains fully flexible in order to facilitate land, sea and air transport of standard cargos.

The opening of new offices is an important step for the entire Fracht Group, which, ever since its inception, has held global logistical services delivered to its customers through the development of its own branches and by establishing relations with business partners as one of its overriding gaols. By intensifying its operations in Scandinavia, the Fracht Group will be able to fulfil the needs of local customers and deliver comprehensive logistical solutions to its current counterparties in conjunction with their expansion onto new markets in an even more efficient manner.
We warmly welcome the Danish and Finnish offices to the Fracht Group and wish them every success!

The purpose of the workshop was to better acquaint representatives of non-governmental organizations with business and human rights issues, as well as to advance their knowledge and competencies in this area to increase the influence of NGOs in the implementation of the UN Guidelines on business and human rights by businesses and public administration institutions. The workshop also aimed to enable substantive and constructive participation of NGOs in the process leading to the development by the public administration of the  National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP)), on which work is due to commence this Autumn. The workshop also provided an opportunity to present the experience of NGOs from other countries i.e.,   SOMO, ICAR, Sherpa and Bern Declaration.

During the workshop, particular attention was devoted to the procedures and mechanisms for seeking justice in cases of human rights violations by enterprises and how the process leading to the development of the NAP can be used to improve the efficiency of the complaints mechanism related to the National Focal Point of the OECD in Poland and the popularization or development of other mechanisms and complaint procedures.
Furthermore, during the workshop we will attempt to map the expectations of NGOs regarding their participation in the work process on the NAP as well as the content of the NAP.
